A family of breeders

The Lamy family has been breeding racehorses for 45 years. Pierre has first started working for the de Lastours family (Haras de Gruchy) at the beginning of his career, and then took over as manager of the stud in the 2000s. It has been called Haras de Pierrepont ever since. His son, Sébastien, and his wife, Claire, currently manage the family stud “Elevage de Pierrepont” next door.

Le Bessin, a breeding ground

The Haras de Pierrepont and Elevage de Pierrepont are located in Normandy, near Bayeux, close to the D-Day Landing Beaches. The two studs cover 135 hectares in the heart of the best horse-breeding regions in France, also known as the birthplace of winners.

The studs are situated within easy reach of the Haras d’Etreham (3 km) and the Haras de la Hétraie (10 km), where some of the best stallions stand at stud. The studs are also close to Caen/Carpiquet’s Airport and Saint-Lô (30 minutes) and Deauville (1h).
